The Ellis Symphonic Band participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) Large Group Performance Evaluation (i.e. the equivalent of a state assessment for music instead of academics) at Georgia Southern in Statesboro.

The students performed 3 songs on stage for three judges then learned a song in 5 minutes (sight read) which they performed for a 4th judge.

They earned an overall SUPERIOR rating (the highest rating possible) which means that it was an "Outstanding performance. Worthy of distinction of being recognized as among the very best." (GMEA Handbook)
