March 24 - Boosterthon

As we begin planning for our upcoming Boosterthon/Fun Run, we need your help collecting T-shirt sizes for each student. Please take a moment to complete the form linked below with your child’s shirt size. We are asking all families to submit the form by the end of this week, if possible. This will be extremely helpful, as we must turn in our initial shirt order numbers soon.

Thank you for your prompt support—your help allows us to plan ahead and ensure every student receives a shirt in the correct size.

Asynchronous Remote Learning Requests

Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools has created an Asynchronous Remote Learning to provide students the opportunity to participate remotely if they are unable to attend school. Asynchronous Remote Learning can only be used a maximum of 5 times per school year. Note this is not to be confused with district e-learning days already scheduled on the school district calendar.

To participate in Asynchronous Remote Learning, a request needs to be completed in PowerSchool Parent Portal PRIOR to the absence. If approved, the student will then be given instructions about what learning platform to log into on the day of their absence from their teachers. To be counted present for attendance purposes, the student must log in to the learning platform and complete work on the day of their absence.

Montessori Education Society of Savannah (M.E.S.S.)

Who we are:

The Montessori Education Society of Savannah (M.E.S.S) is an advocacy group formed primarily by Charles Ellis Montessori Academy parents to support the teachers and administration of our school and promote Montessori Education in the Savannah Community.

Our Why:

Our ultimate goal is to receive American Montessori Society accreditation. This is the gold standard of Montessori school excellence and will distinguish our school community by implementing and sustaining rigorous standards for a quality, authentic Montessori education. In order to receive accreditation, all lead teachers must hold a Montessori credential or be currently enrolled in a program. This training is vital for maintaining a true Montessori environment.

Our Fundraising Goals:

  • 2025-2026 Fundraising Goal for Teacher Certification = $70,000
  • Cost for Elementary I + Elementary II Certification = $13,511/teacher
  • Total Students at Charles Ellis Montessori Academy = 434
  • Monthly Cost per student to reach our goal = $13.50/month
  • Our goal is 100% participation from Ellis families

How You Can Help:

A recurring donation of any amount would be a tremendous step toward reaching our goal! You can sign up monthly using the QR Code below. Alternatively, a one time donation in any amount that makes sense for your family would be extremely appreciated. Again, the goal is 100% participation from our Charles Ellis community. Thank you if you are already a M.E.S.S. supporter!

Grace and Courtesy

Grace and Courtesy

Throughout the school year, Ellis has a school-wide focus on certain positive character traits. Each teacher may choose to highlight these "Grace & Courtesy" emphases differently, but as a school we follow a general common curriculum.

Our school-wide Grace & Courtesy emphasis is COMPASSION

The language of identifying Responsibility from "The Self-Awakened Child" series by Jonathan Wolf.

I am aware of others' needs and am respectful

I manage frustrations and disappointments appropriately
